The Boston Red Sox haven't engaged outfielder Mookie Betts in contract-extension talks yet this winter, according to chief executive officer Sam Kennedy. It'll be interesting to see what the Red Sox do with Betts as they attempt to get under the luxury tax threshold in 2020. Things became more difficult when outfielder J.D. Martinez chose not to opt out of his current deal. Betts is surely worth the money, but the BoSox will be looking to shed payroll this offseason. A trade could be possible. The 27-year-old hit .295/.391/.524 with 29 home runs, 135 runs, 80 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 2019. He is one of the best players in baseball and will be in consideration for the top overall pick in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBI in his team's 12-7 win over the Miami Marlins. That marks back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the fantasy stalwart, as he's currently riding a four-game hit and RBI streak. Betts' average exit velocity (87.8 MPH) and hard-hit rate (30.3%) are down a few ticks from what he usually sees. However, that isn't to say he's been unproductive. The 32-year-old is slashing a solid .250/.339/.407 with four home runs, three doubles, 19 RBI, and 19 runs scored. Furthermore, he's dropped his strikeout rate yet again to a microscopic 8.1%. While it'd be nice to see some more power out of him, he should continue to be an RBI and run-scoring machine nestled in between teammates Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the lineup. Betts' average should come around soon.--Alex Ciulla

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts delivered a solid overall performance on Monday, going 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, two runs scored, and two RBI. Betts hit a two-run homer in the first inning to set the tone for the Dodgers. The 32-year-old has been his usual self so far this season, hitting .304 with a .954 OPS and four homers. The only downside so far has been his lack of speed, with only one stolen base to his name. He should continue to be an elite contributor in fantasy, and it helps that he is hitting in one of the best lineups in baseball.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder/infielder Mookie Betts (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Betts was red-hot during Friday's game as he smacked two homers and collected four RBI. His reward will be a rest day on Saturday, but fantasy managers shouldn't be concerned as this appears to be a routine rest day. Miguel Rojas will cover shortstop and bat eighth versus right-hander Reese Olson on Saturday. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option than Rojas for Saturday's slate. The expectation is that Betts will be back in the lineup following this contest.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop/outfielder Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with two home runs, including a walk-off three-run shot, during their victory over the Detroit Tigers on Friday evening. Betts would tally his first hit of the evening with a single in the sixth inning. Later in the eighth, Betts would launch his first long ball of the contest, this time a solo shot off right-hander Jack Flaherty. In extra innings, Betts would conclude his impressive evening with a walk-off three-run blast that scored Will Smith and Shohei Ohtani. During the final weeks of camp, Betts was dealing with an illness and was unable to play during their opening series in Tokyo. However, he was able to turn the corner in time for Thursday and looked quite healthy on Friday evening. Fantasy managers should continue to view Betts as a high-end option in all formats and a top play in DFS.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
