Red Sox Calling Up Ceddanne Rafaela
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox are recalling outfield prospect Ceddanne Rafaela from Triple-A Worcester on Monday. Rafaela, the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, won't be in the Red Sox's starting lineup on Monday against the Houston Astros, however. The 22-year-old earned his first major-league call-up by hitting .302 (134-for-444) with 20 home runs, 31 doubles, three triples, 79 RBI, 36 stolen bases and 80 runs scored in 108 games with Double-A Portland and Worcester this year. At least until Jarren Duran (toe) returns from the injured list, Rafaela could see decent playing time in Boston's outfield as we get ready to enter the final month of the regular season. On top of his power/speed combination on offense, Rafaela is a Gold Glove-caliber outfielder.
