Red Sox Acquire Wyatt Mills From Royals
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox acquired right-hander Wyatt Mills from the Kansas City Royals on Friday in exchange for minor-league right-hander Jacob Wallace. To make room for Mills on the 40-man roster, the Red Sox designated first baseman Eric Hosmer for assignment. In his second MLB season in 2022, Mills had a 4.60 ERA (3.62 FIP), a 1.33 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 29 1/3 relief innings over 27 outings for the Seattle Mariners and Royals. If the 27-year-old makes it back to the big leagues in 2023 with Boston, he won't be on the fantasy radar out of the bullpen. Wallace posted a 3.81 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 76 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings at the Double-A level last season.
