With the 19th pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, the Tampa Bay Rays selected shortstop Brayden Taylor. While the Rays sometimes use their draft picks in unorthodox ways, Taylor is far from a surprise. The TCU product has shown defensive prowess on the left side of the infield; he has an arm strong enough for third base, as well as enough range and athleticism to dazzle at shortstop. He also impressed offensively during his final collegiate season, slashing .308/.430/.631 with 23 homers, 54 walks, 60 strikeouts, and 14 stolen bases. He is a well-rounded prospect who should contribute at the big-league level in a few years.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerRead More News
