Rays Showing Interest In Charlie Morton
6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays have shown interest in free-agent starting pitcher Charlie Morton. Morton dealt with arm troubles down the stretch last season and turned 35 last month, but the veteran right-hander went 15-3 for Houston last year with a solid 3.13 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 201 strikeouts and just 64 walks in 30 starts. He also won 14 games in 2017 with a 10.0 K/9 and 50 walks in 25 starts. Morton might not be that good if he moves to the tough American League East, but he'd be a strong addition to Tampa's young rotation and would remain a strong second fantasy hurler.
