Corey Kluber Still Looking For Consistency In 2022
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Corey Kluber will be looking to build off his fantastic start from Saturday's 3-1 win over the New York Yankees during Thursday's series finale against Kluber's former team, the Texas Rangers. Kluber threw six innings on Saturday while giving up one earned run on three hits while striking out five batters. It's been very Jekyll and Hyde for Kluber in 2022, as the veteran cannot seem to put together consistently good performances. In May in particular, Kluber threw 24 innings while giving up 13 earned runs on 26 hits, including five home runs. Kluber is also struggling away from Tropicana Field, giving up 12 earned runs on 23 hits over 17 innings. The numbers show that Kluber is struggling in night games, giving up 15 earned runs on 27 hits over 20 innings. With the Rangers winning six out of their last seven games, be wary of starting Kluber on Thursday night.
