Rays Concerned About Nick Anderson
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Nick Anderson (elbow) had been throwing multiple bullpen sessions per week after having elbow surgery, but he's scheduled to meet with Dr. Keith Meister on Tuesday after experiencing what manager Kevin Cash called "a little bit of elbow discomfort." The team is concerned about Anderson, considering he's had setbacks without reaching the point of pitching in a competitive situation. The initial projection was that he'd be back after the All-Star break, but now it's anyone's guess. The 31-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched at all this year and tossed only six innings in 2021. Unless Anderson gets a favorable checkup from Meister, there's a real chance that he could miss the entire second half of the season as well.
