Rays Claim Tyler Alexander Off Waivers From Tigers
1 year agoThe Tampa Bay Rays have claimed pitcher Tyler Alexander off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. The left-hander was designated for assignment by the organization earlier this week. It appears the Rays are willing to give him a chance as a possible swingman option. Last season, Alexander registered a 4.50 ERA, 1.11 WHIP with 44/5 K/BB ratio over 25 games with the Tigers. The 29-year-old has been both a starter and relief pitcher during his time in the MLB. There's a good chance that the Rays attempt to have him do both as part of their staff next season.
