Rays Activate Harold Ramirez From Injured List
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays activated outfielder and first baseman Harold Ramirez (thumb) from the injured list on Tuesday. The 27-year-old is enjoying a quality first season in Tampa Bay, logging 264 plate appearances and hitting .329 with a .379 on-base percentage, four home runs, and three stolen bases. Ramirez has seen time at designated hitter, first base, and both outfield corners for the Rays so far this year. He'll give the team another versatile option, particularly in the outfield, where Kevin Kiermaier and Manuel Margot are both on the 60-day injured list.

Harold Ramirez Called Up By Nationals
9 months agoThe Washington Nationals selected the contract of outfielder Harold Ramirez from the minors on Monday and optioned infield prospect Trey Lipscomb to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move. Ramirez has made it back to the big leagues after being cut by the Tampa Bay Rays and signing a minor-league deal with Washington on June 15. The 29-year-old wasn't in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the San Diego Padres, and Ramirez figures to only draw into the starting lineup in the outfield or as the designated hitter when the team faces a left-handed pitcher. The Columbian outfielder hit .268/.284/.305 with just one homer, 13 RBI and a career-high-tying five stolen bases in 48 games this year in Tampa. Ramirez has limited power (37 career homers in six years) and fantasy upside as a part-time player.

Harold Ramirez Inks Minors Pact With Nats
10 months agoOutfielder Harold Ramirez has signed a minor-league contract with the Washington Nationals and he will report to Triple-A Rochester. The 29-year-old was recently designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays and was released on Friday but it didn't take him long to land with a new club roughly 24 hours later. Ramirez has been a productive hitter in each of the last two seasons with Tampa Bay and enjoyed a career year in 2023 that saw him hit .313 with 12 homers and an .813 OPS across 434 trips to the plate. However, he has taken a major step back in 2024, hitting .268 with just one homer alongside five steals and a .589 OPS across 48 games.

Rays Designate Harold Ramirez For Assignment
10 months agoThe Tampa Bay Rays designated outfielder/designated hitter Harold Ramirez for assignment on Friday and reinstated shortstop Taylor Walls (hip) from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Ramirez will get the boot off the active roster after hitting .268/.284/.305 with a home run, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and 21 runs scored in 164 at-bats this year. The 29-year-old Columbian outfielder started the season as Tampa's primary DH but recently was relegated to a smaller role and now finds himself potentially joining another organization. Ramirez carries a .287/.325/.408 career slash line but with only 37 home runs, 231 RBI and 18 steals in his six major-league seasons. Walls had offseason hip surgery and will be making his season debut when he gets into a game. The 27-year-old is likely to serve as a utility infielder for the Rays.

Isaac Paredes, Harold Ramirez Out On Wednesday
11 months agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Isaac Paredes and outfielder/designated hitter Harold Ramirez are not in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the hosting Milwaukee Brewers. Curtis Mead is starting at third base and batting ninth, while Yandy Diaz is the designated hitter and batting leadoff against Brewers right-hander Colin Rea. Austin Shenton is at first base and is hitting fifth. Paredes will take a seat after starting each of the team's last 11 games. The 25-year-old has been a solid fantasy contributor with a .291/.358/.509 slash line, an .867 OPS, seven home runs and 17 RBI in 110 at-bats. Ramirez will be on the bench for the third time in the last five games and is losing playing time while going 27-for-106 (.255) to open the year with a homer, 10 RBI and three steals. With Jonathan Aranda's (finger) return on the horizon, Ramirez's fantasy stock could plummet even further.
