Ravens Plan To Play Lamar Jackson
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh seems adamant about finding rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson playing time in 2018. “One way or another, he’s going to be out there, taking snaps,” Harbaugh told Postmedia following Tuesday’s indoor practice at club headquarters. However, Harbaugh continues to say that Joe Flacco is "our quarterback," which is sending mixed signals. The Ravens traded up into the first round to take Jackson, and his athleticism could give the team options. Harbaugh says he intends to play Jackson in games in the regular season. Flacco has mediocre for most of his career, so his leash will be short with Jackson the QB of the future in Baltimore. It seems as though the Ravens are talking Jackson up to put pressure on Flacco and light a fire under him. Jackson has impressive physical skills, but he still needs work in the passing game and could use more seasoning. The Ravens could use him as a gadget player at times, but his redraft value is still shaky.
