Raulian Paiva Looks To Continue Climb Up UFC Rankings
4 years agoRaulian Paiva (19-3) is currently 1-2 in the UFC but faced the top of the heap, dropping a split decision to the division's current No. 8 fighter, Kai Kara France, then a cut stoppage against No. 9 fighter Rogerio Bontorin. Paiva rebounded by scoring his first UFC victory and knocking out Mark De La Rosa in February. The win pushed Paiva into the No. 14 spot in the UFC flyweight rankings. Through three UFC bouts, Paiva is averaging 4.49 significant strikes per minute. In the last bout with De La Rosa, Paiva scored 107 points on DraftKings. Though mostly a decision winner, Paiva has scored finishes in two of his last three victories. It should also be noted that Paiva's head coach, Ronildo Nobre, tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be in Paiva's corner on Saturday night.
