Rasmus Hojgaard has had a somewhat mediocre season in 2025. He hasn't finished better than a T-12 and that was all the way back in early February at the WM Phoenix open. Since then he has played in six events where he's missed three cuts and his best finish was back-to-back T-32 finishes at the Houston Open and The Masters. He has lost strokes in just about every part of his game and has had trouble consistently putting together four solid rounds to contend over the weekend. On top of that, he has missed the cut in both starts at TPC Louisiana. He and his brother, who he will be teammates with, Nicolai should be avoided this week.

It was a rough go at TPC Sawgrass this past week for Rasmus Hojgaard, as he turned in a second-round 80 to miss the cut by a large margin. It's easy to do at a tricky place like the Stadium Course for the first time, but his game has been slipping since before that. The 24-year-old has lost 10.92 strokes on approach over his last three starts and has had events where both his driver and putter haven't cooperated. It's quite a dilemma for a player with so much raw talent, but until solid finishes become more commonplace, he'll be hard to trust as more than a dart throw.

Since posting a T12 finish at the Phoenix Open, Rasmus Hojgaard has missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational and finished T34 at the Mexico Open. He now shifts his focus to The PLAYERS Championship, an event he has yet to compete in. At TPC Sawgrass, players will need to be solid from tee to green, but especially accurate off the tee and on approach. Hojgaard ranks 117th in driving accuracy but is 58th in strokes gained off the tee, gaining 0.241 strokes per round. However, his struggles on approach have been evident, as he ranks 132nd, losing 0.198 strokes per round. Despite this, Hojgaard still ranks in the 76th percentile in proximity from 100-150 yards, a critical range given that 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year came from this distance. Given his recent form and lack of experience at the course, fantasy managers may want to carefully consider their options before including Hojgaard in their lineups.

Rasmus Hojgaard struggled at the Genesis Invitational, posting the worst score of the event at 15-over and missing the cut. However, he has a solid track record of bouncing back from poor performances, with his last two missed cuts (both on the DP World Tour) followed by finishes of T13 and T20 in his next events. He'll look to replicate that rebound ability this week as he shifts his focus to the Mexican Open, an event he has yet to play in his career. This course shares many similarities with Torrey Pines, but with less penalty for errant drives and less difficult greens. Considering Hojgaard lost over 7.5 strokes with his putter last week, this should provide much-needed relief. He currently ranks 11th in driving distance, a key stat this week, and 26th in proximity from 200-plus yards, a range that accounted for 43.3% of all approach shots at this event last year. Given these strengths, the Mexican Open could be a strong bounce-back opportunity for Hojgaard, and he should be a player to watch in weaker-field events throughout the season.
