Ranger Suarez Starting Game 3 Against Padres
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez will start Game 3 of the National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres on Friday night in Philadelphia. It will be his second career playoff start 10 days after he went only 3 1/3 innings in a Game 1 win over the Atlanta Braves in the NL Division Series. Suarez walked five hitters and threw just 46 of his 86 pitches for strikes. His final start of the regular season against the Houston Astros, he allowed six runs in just three innings. The 27-year-old thinks he'll be more sharp with the extra rest. In one start against San Diego on the road in 2022, Suarez allowed only two runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out three in 7 1/3 innings in a victory.
