Ranger Suarez Set For Rehab Assignment
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez (elbow) is set for a minor league rehab assignment according to manager Rob Thompson. Suarez has been facing hitters so a rehab assignment is the next step in his progression. The team wants him to make at least three starts in the minors, per Thompson, in order to get his pitch count and stamina built up. Suarez dealt with left forearm inflammation toward the end of spring training and has yet to make his season debut. If all goes well, he should rejoin the Phillies rotation around the middle of May.
