Ranger Suarez Lands On The 15-Day Injured List
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, retroactive to August 16. Suarez was originally slated to start on Sunday but the team stated on Friday that he would miss the start with a hamstring issue. The hope was that Suarez would avoid the injured list but that's not going to happen. The 27-year-old owns a 3.88 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 89:35 K/BB ratio over 91 1/3 innings (17 starts) on the season. He has a chance to return to the Phillies' rotation in early September if he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Right-handed pitcher Andrew Bellatti was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move.
