Ranger Suarez And Sloppy Defense Doom Phillies
6 years agoIn the first game of Thursday’s home doubleheader against the New York Mets, the Philadelphia Phillies sent out Ranger Suarez for his second career start. The 22-year-old, who won late last month against the Cincinnati Reds would once again allow four earned runs. Unfortunately, however, sloppy defensive play would result in four unearned runs for the left-hander, as the Mets would ultimately score a franchise record number of runs. For Suarez, he once again will be sent down to the minor leagues, with any possible doubleheader left this season being his next best chance to pitch in the major leagues.
