Randy Dobnak Keeps Missing Bats This Spring
4 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak looked impressive once again, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings while allowing one hit and one unearned run. Dobnak fanned five more batters on Friday, giving him an impressive 13 strikeouts against zero walks in 8 2/3 innings this spring. His improved slider seems to be baffling hitters, which would be a welcome addition to his game, given his 15.7 career strikeout rate in the majors. Dobnak seems destined to start the year in the bullpen with veterans Matt Shoemaker and J.A. Happ expected to round out the rotation. The 26-year-old should still be on fantasy manager's radars, as an increase in his strikeout rate would take his game to the next level when added to his high groundball rate and low walk rate.
