Randal Grichuk Hitting Just .186 In July
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk has been a strong bat for the team this season. Over 90 games, he's slashing .259/.285/.471 with 18 home runs, 63 RBI and 41 runs. However, his batting average has been in a bit of a free-fall since the calendar turned to June. He hit .231 in June and so far through July, he's hitting just .186. He's managed to keep the power intact with nine home runs since the start of June. However, his low batting average of late is concerning, particularly because he has an abysmal season-long walk rate of 3.3%, which ranks in the bottom 2% of the league. Grichuk should continue to provide solid power stats for fantasy managers even if his batting average continues to tail off.
