1 year agoWith the Los Angeles Rams set to sign quarterback Carson Wentz, the team waived quarterback Brett Rypien on Tuesday, according to a source. The move comes two days after Rypien made the Week 9 start against the Green Bay Packers for the injured Matthew Stafford (thumb). Rypien struggled in the 20-3 loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, completing just 13 of his 28 pass attempts for 130 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He also fumbled twice, losing one of them. The Rams head into their bye in Week 10, but Stafford might not be ready to return after spraining the UCL in his right thumb in Week 8. If Stafford isn't cleared by then, Wentz will make his first appearance in the NFL since playing in eight games (seven starts) for the Washington Commanders in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
