5 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams released linebacker Clay Matthews on Thursday, according to a source. In an effort to shed salary cap space, the Rams also released star running back Todd Gurley on Thursday. Matthews is nearing the end of his career, but he was still plenty productive in 13 games in his only season with the Rams in 2019, notching eight sacks, 37 tackles (27 solo), nine tackles for loss, 11 QB hits and two forced fumbles. The long-time Green Bay Packer can still play and can get after the quarterback, but he's not much of an IDP option at this point in his career.
