Ramon Laureano Returning To The Bench Tuesday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians outfielder Ramon Laureano is not in the starting lineup Tuesday night versus the Minnesota Twins and right-hander Sonny Gray. The veteran collected a trio of hits, including a triple, in his club's ugly 20-6 loss to the Twins in Monday's series opener but will nonetheless hit the bench on Tuesday while Myles Straw returns to take over in center field. It's been a disappointing overall season for the former A's outfielder but Laureano has put together a palatable .256/.330/.402 slash line with two homers, one stolen base, and a 105 wRC+ in 23 games since being picked up by the Guardians. His dip in the power/speed departments is surely a disappointing result for those who took a late-round flier on Laureano on draft day.
