Ramon Laureano Reinstated From Injured List
1 year agoThe Oakland Athletics reinstated outfielder Ramon Laureano (hand) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and also reinstated right-hander Angel Felipe from the paternity list. In a corresponding move, right-hander Chad Smith was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. Laureano is now back with the A's, but he's not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants. He hasn't played for the A's since June 21 and had only two hits in 24 at-bats with 14 strikeouts in his last eight games before landing on the injured list in June. Speed is the 29-year-old Dominican's best asset -- he has eight stolen bags this year -- but he's batting .213 (43-for-202) on the year.
