Ramon Laureano On The Bench Monday
2 years agoOakland A's outfielder Ramon Laureano will start Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs on the bench. Laureano has appeared in all but one of the A's games this season and while he hasn't hit much he's delivering on the power/speed upside managers desired on draft day. The 28-year-old is hitting just .218 but has two homers, four doubles, and a triple alongside a pair of stolen bases across 61 trips to the plate. Laureano has dealt with injuries in back-to-back seasons but has hit 27 home runs with 23 stolen bases across 182 games in that time. He'll struggle to produce adequate runs or RBI totals on a weak A's offense but Laureano still boasts a skill set worthy of a roster spot in deeper leagues.
