Raisel Iglesias To Land On Injured List To Begin Season
2 years agoAtlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) is dealing with low-grade right shoulder inflammation and will start the 2023 season on the injured list. Iglesias will not throw for the next seven days. Iglesias' injury doesn't sound all that serious, but the Braves will have to adjust the back end of their bullpen early on. For now, there's no timetable for when Iglesias will make his season debut. With Iglesias on the shelf for a while, A.J. Minter and Joe Jimenez will be the best short-term bets for saves in Atlanta and for fantasy managers that wait on the position in upcoming drafts. Minter, a 29-year-old left-hander, should probably be viewed as the favorite. He's been with Atlanta for all six of his MLB seasons and has recorded 25 saves in that time.
