Raisel Iglesias Starting Rehab Assignment Thursday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) will start his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday night. Iglesias has yet to make an appearance for the Braves in 2023, but he's getting closer to making his season debut in the team's bullpen. The 33-year-old right-hander probably won't need to make that many rehab appearances, so he could be back with the Braves at some point next week. Left-hander A.J. Minter has been operating as Atlanta's primary closer with Iglesias out. The Braves may choose to ease Iglesias back into his closing role when he's activated from the injured list, but he will eventually take over the primary closing duties for one of the best teams in baseball.
