Raisel Iglesias May Need A Few More Weeks
2 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) said his shoulder is feeling much better, but because he was shut down since the final week of spring training, he may need a couple of weeks once he is cleared to begin throwing off of a mound again. Iglesias has thrown off flat ground several times, but he hasn't thrown a bullpen session yet and doesn't appear to be close to making his 2023 debut for the Braves as their primary closer. The 33-year-old right-hander was initially diagnosed with low-grade right shoulder inflammation. With Iglesias sidelined, left-hander A.J. Minter has taken over the team's primary closing duties early in the season. Iglesias is worth stashing in an injured list spot until he's back.
