Raimel Tapia Getting Called Up By The Rays
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Raimel Tapia has had his contract selected from Triple-A Durham. The veteran outfielder will replace Brandon Lowe (knee), who is done for the season, on the active roster. Tapia couldn't stick with either the Red Sox or the Brewers this season and signed a minor league contract with Tampa Bay in early August. The 29-year-old was a .280/.325/.396 hitter with the Rockies over the first six years of his career but he's found life away from Coors Field a little more difficult. He's slashing just .256/.296/.369 over the last two years while playing with Toronto, Boston, and Milwaukee.
