Raiders Sign Brian Hoyer
2 years agoThe Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent quarterback Brian Hoyer to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to the team. Hoyer spent the last three seasons serving as a backup with the New England Patriots, but he'll now reunite with his former offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels, who is Vegas' head coach. The 37-year-old is entering his 15th NFL season and is more of a coach than a player at this point in his career. Hoyer had three stints with the Patriots and has completed 59.4 percent of his 1,518 career attempts for 10,668 yards, 53 touchdowns and 35 interceptions in 76 career games (40 starts). As things currently stand, Hoyer is set to back up starter Jimmy Garoppolo in 2023.
