Raiders Re-Sign Doug Martin
6 years agoThe Oakland Raiders re-signed running back Doug Martin to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Steve Wyche. This comes a day after Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles during a workout on Tuesday. He will likely miss the entire 2019 season. Martin had a fumbling issue in 2018 but otherwise was decent, running 172 times for 723 yards and four touchdowns. Rookie Josh Jacobs, who was taken No. 24 overall in the first round, is expected to see the majority of carries on early downs, but Martin will be a veteran presence to help him out. Along with Bears rookie David Montgomery, Jacobs profiles as one of the better rookie running back targets in redraft leagues in 2019.
