Raiders Hiring Pete Carroll As Next Head Coach
2 mins agoAccording to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Las Vegas Raiders are hiring Pete Carroll as their next head coach. Carroll and the Raiders agreed to a three-year deal with a fourth-year option. Carroll was the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks for 14 seasons and led them to ten playoff appearances and their only Super Bowl victory in franchise history. During his long tenure with Seattle, he held a 137-89-1 record and a 10-9 postseason record. He is also one of four head coaches to win both a National Championship and Super Bowl. He was the head skipper of USC from 2001 to 2009. The 73-year-old will be tasked to replace Antonio Pierce, who went 4-13 during his time as head coach. With the Raiders entering a rebuilding period, Carroll will bring much-needed winning experience to the locker room. With a new head coach, the Raiders will likely look to bring in a new quarterback either in free agency or with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
