Raheem Mostert Makes Noise With 12 Touches
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert collected 87 yards on 12 carries in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers. Entering the game with eight total touches from scrimmage, Mostert’s workload was a complete surprise. Mostert shared the backfield with Matt Breida (ankle, shoulder) on a near-even basis and his impressive performance was likely what restricted Alfred Morris to a single snap. Having seemingly supplanted Morris and with the Niners committed to a committee running attack, the fourth-year man could be the primary handcuff to Breida. It’s possible Week 6 was an outlier, but Mostert may be a speculative stash for owners desperate for RB depth.
