Raheem Mostert Could Ditch Crutches Soon
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (knee) already had surgery on his knee and said that he can already put 25 percent of his weight on his injured leg. Mostert might be able to ditch his crutches in a couple weeks and is hoping to return fully in 2022, but he's set to become a free agent in March. The 29-year-old had just two carries for 20 yards in the season opener this year before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He played in just eight games in 2020 due to injuries and hasn't proven to be able to withstand a lead-back role, which will likely limit his suitors on the open market, even if he proves he's past his latest knee injury. His landing spot heading into the 2022 season will determine his fantasy value, but it's unlikely he'll be given an outright workhorse role.

Raiders Signing Raheem Mostert To One-Year Deal
4 weeks agoThe Las Vegas Raiders are signing former Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert to an undisclosed one-year deal on Thursday, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Mostert, a 10-year NFL veteran, had 1,012 rushing yards and a league-leading 21 total touchdowns in 2023 with the Dolphins and will be a big-time addition to Vegas' backfield in 2025. However, the 32-year-old fell back to Earth hard last year with only 85 carries, 278 yards and two rushing touchdowns in 13 games (one start) as the clear secondary option to De'Von Achane. With the move to Vegas, he'll Mostert will reunite with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly and will have a shot to bounce back as one of the team's primary backs as he competes for touches with Sincere McCormick and Zamir White. The aging back will most likely be involved in some sort of timeshare, but he could bounce back as a touchdown-dependent flex option if he can stay healthy.

Dolphins Release Raheem Mostert
2 months agoThe Miami Dolphins informed former Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert of his release on Friday, according to his agent, Brett Tessler. Mostert led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns and had a career-high 1,012 rushing yards on 209 carries for the Dolphins in 2023 as a first-time Pro Bowler, but he predictably came back down to Earth last season and finished with 85 carries, 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding 19 catches for 161 additional yards in 13 games (one start). With the release of the 32-year-old veteran, Miami will clear $2.97 million in salary cap space for the 2025 season. De'Von Achane will once again enter the upcoming season as the Dolphins' primary back, but now he'll have Jaylen Wright as his primary backup. Mostert isn't likely to have a strong free-agent market and will most likely be a short-yardage, No. 2 back wherever he ends up.

Raheem Mostert Not A Startable Option Vs. Jets
3 months agoMiami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert has had a disappointing 2024 campaign. The 2023 rushing touchdown leader has only scored two all year, and his carries have taken a drastic hit due to some fumble troubles in the middle of the season. Overall, the Miami offense has found running the football challenging this year, ranking 24th in rushing yards per game. Week 18 presents a matchup with the New York Jets,
who have been solid at defending opposing running backs. They rank 12th in fantasy points allowed to running backs. That, combined with the run-blocking inconsistencies of the Miami offensive line, makes Mostert a sit for Week 18.

Raheem Mostert Quiet Again In Week 17
3 months agoMiami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert earned eight opportunities on the ground and through the air, turning that into 19 all-purpose yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Cleveland Browns. He had six carries for three yards while catching both of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's victory. This type of production has been par for the course for Mostert in 2024. After having a career season last year, Mostert has taken a clear backseat to De'Von Achane in 2025. In Week 18, the Dolphins travel to New York to take on the Jets, and Mostert can be left on the bench for fantasy managers as he is not getting enough volume and opportunities to be fantasy-relevant.
