Rafael Dolis Melts Down Versus Yankees
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Rafael Dolis threw just two-thirds of an inning and allowed two runs to the New York Yankees during a 5-3 loss on Saturday. The right-hander didn't allow a hit but he walked three batters and threw just 10 of his 24 pitches for strikes. Dolis had also made an appearance on Thursday when he threw a shutout inning and struck out two batters with a walk. The veteran hurler is expected to hold a key high-leverage role with the Jays in 2021 but if he continues to struggle, the club could turn to another arm such as rookie Julian Merryweather to help out in key innings. The club is currently carrying a 14-man pitching staff.
