Rafael Devers In The Lineup After Injury Scare
4 months agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers (shoulder) is at third base and batting cleanup for the BoSox in Wednesday's series finale at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies and right-hander Cal Quantrill despite an injury scare in Tuesday's 6-0 victory. Devers rolled over his right shoulder while trying to make a diving stop in the bottom of the sixth inning, but he shook it off and stayed in the game. "We've been through this path before but [fortunately] he's OK," said manager Alex Cora. "He said he just jammed it. He took some vicious hacks in the last at-bat. He said he'll be ready for [Wednesday]." The fact that the All-Star left-handed hitter is back in there a day later in a matinee affair is a good sign. It's something to watch with Devers moving forward, but fantasy managers need to keep one of the best hitters in the game in their lineups. The 27-year-old Dominican heads into Wednesday's contest with 23 homers, 63 RBI and a .286/.370/.578 slash line.
