Quinn Priester Shipped Off To Milwaukee
1 hour agoThe Boston Red Sox have traded pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor-league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive-balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later, or cash considerations. Boston acquired Priester from the Pittsburgh Pirates at last season's trade deadline. Though the 24-year-old hadn't entirely adjusted to his move last year, he pitched to a solid 3.21 ERA and 1.07 WHIP (33.2 innings) with 36 strikeouts in seven starts for Triple-A Indianapolis. On the other hand, Rodriguez hadn't shown much in Single-A ball with the Carolina Mudcats in 2024 but started this season scorching hot at High-A Wisconsin, batting .417 (5-for-12) with a double, triple, and three runs scored. With Milwaukee's rotation depth in disarray -- including the most recent injury to Nestor Cortes (elbow) -- a move was necessitated to bolster their reserves.
