Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester pitched well in a 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. Priester tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, walking three, and striking out four to earn his first win of the season. The 24-year-old hurler notched seven swinging strikes while keeping the Detroit hitters off balance for much of the outing. Priester has looked good in his two starts for the Brewers after they acquired him from the Boston Red Sox in a trade last week. He is worth considering as a streamer in deeper leagues moving forward.--Matt T - RotoBaller

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester will make another start for the Brewers and is lined up to pitch on Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers and right-hander Jack Flaherty at American Family Field. To keep Priester in the starting rotation for another turn, the Brewers are moving Elvin Rodriguez to the bullpen. The 24-year-old Priester was acquired in a trade from the Boston Red Sox last week and looked good in his debut with Milwaukee last week against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, allowing one earned run on six hits while walking two and striking out fur in five innings pitched. He'll have a bit more of a difficult matchup this time around in Detroit, but Priester is still worth streaming considering in deeper leagues. When both Tobias Myers (oblique) and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) return from the injured list, Priester might not have a spot left in the rotation, though.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Quinn Priester looked solid on the mound during his team debut against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The right-hander was recently traded to Milwaukee from the Boston Red Sox earlier this week. The Brewers are a bit banged up in the starting rotation, so they could use Priester right now. He looked good as he tossed five innings, allowing five hits, one earned run, and striking out four batters in the no-decision. Priester really didn't give up any damage outside of a leadoff solo home run in the opening frame. He's unlikely to stick in the rotation long term, but figures to make at least another start. If he does, Priester would be in line to face the Detroit Tigers early next week. He could offer some low-end streaming value in that start.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, is a good bet to start Thursday's series finale against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Todd Rosiak. Once a top prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, the 24-year-old will get the first shot at replacing lefty Nestor Cortes (elbow) in Milwaukee's starting rotation, although he'll be a very risky streamer in his first MLB start at Coors Field this week. In 11 outings (seven starts) with the Pirates and Red Sox in 2024, Priester had a 4.71 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 33 strikeouts and 14 walks in 49 2/3 innings. The former first-rounder allowed two earned runs while walking none and fanning six in four innings in his lone start at Triple-A Worcester before the trade. Priester is merely a flier in NL-only leagues at the moment.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Boston Red Sox have traded pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor-league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive-balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later, or cash considerations. Boston acquired Priester from the Pittsburgh Pirates at last season's trade deadline. Though the 24-year-old hadn't entirely adjusted to his move last year, he pitched to a solid 3.21 ERA and 1.07 WHIP (33.2 innings) with 36 strikeouts in seven starts for Triple-A Indianapolis. On the other hand, Rodriguez hadn't shown much in Single-A ball with the Carolina Mudcats in 2024 but started this season scorching hot at High-A Wisconsin, batting .417 (5-for-12) with a double, triple, and three runs scored. With Milwaukee's rotation depth in disarray -- including the most recent injury to Nestor Cortes (elbow) -- a move was necessitated to bolster their reserves.--Alex Ciulla
