Quinn Priester Performing Well For Triple-A
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Quinn Priester put together his best performance of the season for Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday. The right-hander tossed a season-high seven innings and allowed five hits, one run, one walk and struck out nine. The nine strikeouts matched his previous high for the season. The former first round pick in 2019 missed some time in 2022 with an oblique injury, but that hasn't slowed his development as he is knocking on the door for a chance with the Pirates in 2023. Priester offers a four-pitch mix, with his curveball being his best pitch and a fastball in the 90's. For the season, the 22-year-old owns a 4.66 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings over eight starts. Don't let the ERA confuse you as most of that was due to a bad outing that he had in his first start of the season that he allowed six runs in. He is a name for managers in dynasty and redraft leagues to consider stashing with the Pirates needing pitching and having the ability to be patient with their young arm during a rebuild season.
