Quinn Priester Looks Set To Start On Thursday
1 week agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, is a good bet to start Thursday's series finale against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Todd Rosiak. Once a top prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, the 24-year-old will get the first shot at replacing lefty Nestor Cortes (elbow) in Milwaukee's starting rotation, although he'll be a very risky streamer in his first MLB start at Coors Field this week. In 11 outings (seven starts) with the Pirates and Red Sox in 2024, Priester had a 4.71 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 33 strikeouts and 14 walks in 49 2/3 innings. The former first-rounder allowed two earned runs while walking none and fanning six in four innings in his lone start at Triple-A Worcester before the trade. Priester is merely a flier in NL-only leagues at the moment.
