5 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Quinn Mathews has been promoted to Double-A Springfield. The 23-year-old lefty has been incredible through 74 1/3 innings, this year. With Low-A Palm Beach, he posted a 1.47 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and 52:11 K/BB ratio in 30 2/3 innings. With High-A Peoria, he posted a 2.68 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and 58:9 K/BB in 43 2/3 innings. Mathews was drafted out of Stanford in the fourth round of last year's draft. Currently the Cardinals' No. 20 prospect (per MLB.com), he's expected to make his MLB debut in 2025.--Wade Smith - RotoBaller
