Question Marks Remain Over Ronald Guzman's Availability
6 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman (knee) remains a question mark for Texas with Opening Day a little over a week away. However, there is optimism that Guzman could be back in the lineup as soon as Wednesday, suggesting that without a set back he will be active come the start of the season. Guzman had been having an impressive spring before the injury, with a .323 batting average and three home runs in 35 plate appearances. Those numbers are a positive for Guzman, given he struggled to make a major impact last season. However, according to Baseball Reference, the average quality of opposing pitcher is somewhere just below what might be expected at Triple-A. Anyone hitting in Texas has the potential to put up good numbers and Guzman could be an interesting sleeper in deep mixed and AL-only leagues in 2019.
