Quarterback C.J. Beathard Throws For 63 Yards In Relief Effort
12 months agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback C.J. Beathard completed nine-of-10 passes for 63 yards in a MNF overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Beathard was forced into action when QB1 Trevor Lawrence went down with an ankle sprain in the fourth quarter and filled in admirably, nearly leading the Jaguars to an overtime win. The former 49er led a clutch two-minute drill late in the fourth quarter that resulted in a game-tying field goal which sent the game to overtime. Beathard also connected with Calvin Ridley on a 42-yard deep shot in OT that appeared to give the Jags first and goal inside the five, but the play was called back due to a holding call. It's looking likely that Lawrence will miss some time, and if that is the case Beathard will draw the start next Sunday vs. the vaunted Cleveland Browns defense.
