Pyotr Kochetkov Shuts The Door On Flyers On Saturday
4 hours agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov stopped all 26 shots he saw on Saturday evening during their victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The Hurricanes held the slight advantage in the shot total but Kochetkov was able to step up when called on. This outing also extended his win streak to five games. During this impressive stretch, Kochetkov has held a stellar .948 save percentage with a 1.19 GAA. He only allowed two or more goals twice during this stretch. Through 40 games this season, Kochetkov has held a 25-11-3 record with a .907 save percentage and a 2.37 GAA. Fantasy managers should continue to expect him and Frederik Andersen to alternate starts in the Carolina crease. His next start will likely be against the Los Angeles Kings next weekend.

Pyotr Kochetkov Achieves Rare Feat In Sunday's Win
3 months agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov collected assists on two goals in Sunday's 3-1 victory over the Rangers, becoming the second netminder in Hurricanes/Whalers history to post multiple points in a single regular-season game. He's the first goaltender this season to achieve the feat. Kochetkov had his first helper when Jack Roslovic potted the game-winning goal on the power play late in the second period, and his second assist came near the end of the game on Sebastian Aho's empty-net tally. Kochetkov also took care of normal duties well, stopping 22 of 23 shots to improve to 14-6-0. He has allowed 2.43 goals with a .903 save percentage and one shutout. It's been a successful campaign for Kochetkov, but he's been inconsistent in recent weeks, last winning back-to-back starts in November.

Pyotr Kochetkov Stops Islanders From Scoring
3 months agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov bagged his first shutout of the season in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Islanders. After losing four of his previous six starts, Kochetkov was back in form on Tuesday, stopping the opposition from scoring with 32 saves. With the impressive win, Kochetkov improved his record to 13-5-0. He has a mediocre .902 save percentage, but Carolina's strong defensive play has helped Kochetkov register a 2.47 goals-against average, which has him just outside the top 10 in the league among all netminders. Frederik Andersen (knee) isn't close to returning, so Kochetkov should get plenty of work to close out 2024, with Dustin Tokarski providing backup.

Pyotr Kochetkov Back In Hurricanes Crease Tuesday
3 months agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov (concussion) will return to action on Tuesday against Seattle. He's missed four games after suffering a concussion. Kochetkov has worked as Carolina's No. 1 for most of the campaign due to Frederik Andersen's (knee) absence. He's sporting a very impressive 10-2-0 record and has registered a 2.42 goals-against average with a .904 save percentage. Kochetkov might be a bit rusty in his return, but he faces a team that's on a three-game losing streak and has won just four of 11 road games.
