6 years agoDetroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson should see plenty of reps during the team's third preseason game on Friday. The 2018 second-round pick is expected play a large role in the Lions offense this season, but the third preseason game usually tells where a player stands on the team. After posting 67 total yards in the first preseason game, Johnson tallied just 19 all-purpose yards in their second game. LeGarrette Blount seems to be getting the early down work for now, but Johnson's usage in both the running and passing attack is a good sign of how the Lions intend to use him this season. If he sees a bulk of the work against the Buccaneers, expect that to carry over into the regular season.
