Although Bubba Wallace only finished eighth at Talladega and led only five laps, he had one of the best drives in a lowkey way. After finishing fourth in Stage 1, Wallace then outdueled Joey Logano's illegal car on the last lap to win Stage 2, but he was let down by bad Toyota strategy rather than his own driving. The Toyota drivers including Wallace monopolized the top five positions for the first half of Stage 3, which meant they burnt more fuel than the Fords and Chevies and dropped to the back of the lead draft on the final exchange of pit stops. Nonetheless, Wallace made a furious charge on the last two laps when he drove from 20th to 10th and was promoted to 8th after Logano and Ryan Preece's disqualifications, easily beating all the other Toyotas. He also had the highest driver rating in the race for a driver who wasn't disqualified. He now sits seventh in points only seven points behind his teammate Tyler Reddick and 86 above the playoff cutline.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerRead More News
