Poor Putting At The Plantation Course Hinders Corey Conners
1 year agoDespite gaining 6.5 strokes from tee to green this past week in Kapalua at The Sentry, Corey Conners finished T33 as a result of his horrid -7.1 strokes putting. Even still, Conners will be a popular DraftKings play at an elevated $9,800 price tag as well as a common wager among outright bettors when he travels to the Sony Open this week. In a similar fashion, the Canadian tore up Waiʻalae Country Club from tee to green in 2023, but finished T12 due to over three strokes lost on the greens. If the 32-year-old ball-striking specialist can correct these putting woes during his practice sessions on the islands, he's destined for a top-five finish with plenty of ability to take home an early-season win in Honolulu.
