Poor Irons Holding Back Seamus Power
1 year agoSeamus Power has found himself in a nice putting groove of late, gaining at least 1.4 strokes with the flat stick in each of his last five events, including two majors. However, he's gained on approach in just one of his last six events, which has led to four missed cuts in that span. With how dialed-in his counterparts will be from tee-to-green in a very strong field, it's tough to give Power a look, even at a $6,300 price tag. Considering how lost he is on approach these days, it appears a 40th-place finish is about the ceiling for the Irishman, as his -8.0 strokes on approach at this event last year support the notion of avoiding his name this time around.
