6 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin recorded an assist on Saturday, marking his third consecutive game with a helper. While the point production is what we have come to expect from Panarin, Saturday night's game gave Panarin owners reason for pause as well. Panarin was used on the second power-play unit, not in his regular spot on the top unit, and put only two shots on net for the third time in the last five games. For a player that averaged 3.67 shots per game for the first 12 games of the season, his 2.4 shots per game average over the last five games is a little surprising. It is likely a trend that will pass soon, but it is potentially a reason to avoid Panarin in daily formats until his shot rates return.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller

1 week agoNew York Rangers left wing Artemi Panarin scored twice during their 6-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday evening. Panarin did all of his damage in the opening frame. He scored both of his goals on a wrist shot and during 5-on-5 play. During the contest, he held a +2 rating and logged three total shots on goal. This was his second-straight contest tallying at least two points. Through 15 games this month, Panarin has found the back of the net 10 times and added 10 helpers. During this stretch, he held a +8 rating and averaged 2.8 shots on goal per game. Through 72 total games this season, the 33-year-old has scored 33 goals and added 46 helpers, with 23 of his total points coming on the power play. He will look to stay hot on Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

He has averaged 3.5 shots on goal per game and tallied two of his helpers on the power play. Through 65 total contests this season, Panarin has earned 71 points (29 goals) with 22 of them coming on the power play. Panarin would tally his first point of the game with the secondary assist on Vincent Trocheck's goal. Later in the third period, Panarin would find the back of the net on a wrist shot. 4 months agoNew York Rangers left wing Artemi Panarin (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Friday's matchup against Dallas. He'll be hoping to return from a two-game absence. Panarin has gone pointless only once in his last seven appearances and leads the team with 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 29 games. No other Ranger has managed more than 25 points this campaign, which shows just how important Panarin is for the team. The veteran star is expected to be reunited with Alexis Lafreniere and Vincent Trocheck if he gets the green light to play.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
