Players Expected To Vote Yes On Proposals
4 years agoThere is a strong expectation that the Major League Baseball Players Association will vote yes on Tuesday on the league's proposed July 1 report date for spring training and codify the health-and-safety protocol to lock in a 60-game season that will start around July 24, according to sources. However, the health-and-safety issues could cause a snag in the process, which would endanger a 2020 baseball season. But the good news is that optimism and motivation are there for a season to happen this year despite all the back-and-forth bickering between the two parties over financials. The biggest question now is how the health and safety protocols will work in stadiums during spring training 2.0, especially after all spring training facilities were shut down last weekend due to multiple teams' staff members and players testing positive for COVID-19.
