2 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker will start the Week 7 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Baker Mayfield (ankle) sidelined last week, Walker started against the Los Angeles Rams. However, the veteran quarterback suffered a neck injury and left the game early. Thankfully, he didn't suffer a concussion and will be able to play this week. Meanwhile, the Panthers designed Sam Darnold (ankle) to return from injured reserve earlier today and will practice. The fifth-year quarterback hasn't played this season after suffering the injury in the preseason. While Walker will start this week, expect the Panthers to readdress the quarterback situation next week, depending on the health of Mayfield and Darnold.--Mike Fanelli
