Pirates Sign Jarlin Garcia
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates signed left-hander Jarlin Garcia on Tuesday, pending a physical, according to a source. The deal is reportedly for one year and $2.5 million, and the Pirates will hold a $3.25 million option for the 2024 season, according to The Athletic's Rob Biertempfel. Garcia had a 3.74 ERA (4.27 FIP), a 1.20 WHIP, one save and 56 strikeouts in 65 innings over 58 relief appearances for the San Francisco Giants in 2022. He was designated for assignment last month and become a free agent when he cleared waivers. The 29-year-old won't be in the saves picture in Pittsburgh, so he won't have any fantasy relevance entering 2023.
